Fall Conference

The 2017 WSASP Fall Conference will be held at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, WA from Oct. 26-28, 2017

Registration for fall conference is now open!

If you would like to present a workshop session, poster, or are a vendor, please see below.

Click here for a schedule-at-a-glance for this year.

Click here for a brochure which contains detailed session information.

Please note: The Networks for Life Suicide Prevention course is an option again this year. This three hour training meets the requirement for HB 1336 regarding suicide prevention training for all ESA certified employees. Participants will learn data on suicide rates in Washington State and learn strategies to reduce risk factors and building protective factors.  Participants will discuss school context and response to suicide in that setting.

If you wish to register for this session, please go here and pay the extra $50 fee. This training is a separate registration fee from the fall conference. This means that if you register to take Networks for Life, you must still register for the rest of the conference should you wish to attend. There will be no registration for this session taken that day.

Have a question to ask OSPI?

Now is your chance! John Bresko, Program Supervisor of Special Education or Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), will be doing a Question & Answer session on Thursday, October 26th from 4:00-5:30pm at the Fall Conference. Please email conference@wsasp.org with your questions and they will be addressed during John’s discussion!

Suncadia Lodging

09/25/17: A room rate was secured for Fall Conference attendees at Suncadia. As many people are finding out, we have reached that limit, which means there are no more rooms for the conference rate. The only rooms that remain cost more money and I know Suncadia is almost completely booked. That being said, we are currently inquiring as to whether Suncadia will allow us to extend the rate for the amount of rooms they have left. In the meantime, it may be a good idea to look at other lodging options in the Cle Elum area.

09/24/17: It has come to our attention that the room block/rate has sold out. What this means is there are still some rooms available at Suncadia's normal/typical rate and more expensive rooms. We will be in touch with Suncadia on Monday, 9/25/17 to extend the room block/rate to their available rooms. That being said, we don't know how many rooms they have left at this time or which rooms they'll apply this to. We will update you as soon as possible. We are sorry for this inconvenience.

Previous update: **There have been some noted issues with contacting Suncadia for lodging. Through a collective effort, we have figured out that if you call Suncadia in the evening, they are not able to access our actual reservation/group code. Therefore, please contact Suncadia directly at 509-649-6400 during regular business hours.

If you had any issues with securing your reservation and were not able to get the discounted rate, please email us and we will make sure it gets taken care of as soon as possible.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience!

Lodging for deluxe guest rooms is $142/night*. Identify yourself as part of the WSASP Conference group with the group code 45M3SJ. They will need a guest name, home or business address, email address (if any), requested bed type (i.e.: king, queen/queen/, or suite), and dates of arrival/departure. You must reserve by 9/26/17 to get this rate. If you reserve after 9/26/17, you may run the risk of not having a room available and may possibly be charged a higher rate. Check-in time is 4:00pm and check-out time is 11:00am.

*There is a resort fee of $27/night - includes internet, in-room coffee, self-parking, access to swim and fitness center. This is a separate fee, uncontrolled by WSASP, and is in addition to the group rate.
